Facebook has recently decided to ban far-right activists following the event of thorough observation they have undergone.

The app was put under renewed scrutiny after it has apparently allowed hate groups to develop after New Zealand attack.

The government of Canada praised Facebook’s move to ban the said groups. Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen said:

“We’ve seen hate speech fuel the attack against Pittsburgh, at the synagogue, we’ve seen more recently in Christchurch, worshipers gunned down. This is real and it has consequences. And we’re very glad that Facebook has taken the actions that it has.”

According to an article from Philstar.

The social networking site decided to ban well-known nationalists such as: Faith Goldy and Kevin Goudreau, whose positions were described as white supremacists, and other hate groups.

Twitter also had a few minor changes including ‘limiting the number of accounts a user can follow in one day’ in an attempt to fight spamming.

The total number of that a user can add was also brought down to 400 from 1000. As said by a San Francisco-based internet firm, in the article.
