Minor Taken Into Custody for Throwing Broken Bottle at Gasoline Attendant

A minor was taken into custody after he allegedly threw a broken bottle at a gasoline attendant at a gas station in Sampaloc, Manila.

On Friday afternoon (June 26, 2026), a 15-year-old boy was caught throwing a broken bottle at a gasoline attendant in Manila. The confrontation was caught on video and quickly drew attention online.

Reports said the argument started after the teenager was asked to leave the area. The situation became more heated, leading to a chase between the boy and the gasoline attendant.

In the video, the teenager was seen running after the worker and making threatening gestures. Moments later, he picked up a broken bottle and threw it at the attendant before grabbing onto a passing jeepney and leaving the scene.

The gasoline attendant suffered an injury to his right hand after being hit by the broken bottle. Witnesses said the teenager had been acting aggressively even before the attack. Some motorists who saw the incident described him as violent and said he had also been making threats during the confrontation.

According to workers at the gas station, the teenager had already been banned from entering the premises because of repeated problems.

Employees claimed he often caused trouble inside the station, particularly in the restroom, where he allegedly left trash scattered around and damaged facilities. They also said there were concerns about missing items whenever he was around.

Kasi po, naka-ban po dito ‘yon kasi po binabalahura niya ‘yong CR namin. Tapos ‘yong nakaparadang jeep, ninanakawan po,” the gasoline station crew said.

Authorities were able to take the teenager into custody after he was surrendered by his mother. Police said that instead of showing remorse, the boy continued to make threats even after being brought to the barangay for questioning.

The injured gasoline attendant later decided not to pursue a formal complaint. However, police reminded the public that parents can also be held accountable under local ordinances if their children repeatedly become involved in similar incidents.

The teenager has since been turned over to the Manila Reception and Action Center, where he will undergo rehabilitation and receive further intervention from authorities.
