Amid the controversial video of Jim Paredes, his daughter Erica Paredes took a social media break.
The veteran singer has been the talk of the town for a few days now since it was alleged that his “scandal video” circulated on social media.
Netizens had funny reactions about this while some criticized him for that. Initially, Jim denied the video as he said it was fake. However, in his blog entry dated April 1, he admitted that it was really him but the video was not intended for public consumption.
Since the issue caught the attention of the online community, actor and former OWWA official Arnell Ignacio also shared a piece of his mind.
As Jim is known to be a critic of Duterte administration, Arnell, who is a supporter, slammed the veteran singer.
Amid the controversy, the daughter of Jim Paredes a series of posts on her Instagram story.
According to Erica, she is now taking a break from social media because of “too much toxic energy”. She added that it is “not as fun as it used to be”.
The chef also said that netizens could still follow her posts about food on her other account.
Behind the toxicity of the social media for the daughter of Jim Paredes, she still thanked all the people who reached out.
“I had an outpour of love and support in my inbox this morning,” Erica said.
She also said, “We are dealing with it. Just want to go back to normal already. Whatever that really means in my not normal life.”
Erica also had a statement telling people to mind their own business and post things that will be beneficial to society.
