What To Prepare:
- 1 lb. pork shoulder in cubes
- 3 pieces long green pepper (siling pansigang) cut into thin pieces
- 8 pieces bird’s eye chili (siling labuyo) or Thai chili cut into small pieces
- 1 piece onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 pack Knorr Ginataang Gulay mix 45g
- 1 tablespoon shrimp paste
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 ¼ cups water
- Salt to taste
How To Cook Pork Bicol Express:
Step 1
Heat oil in a pot and then add the onion and garlic. Saute until the onion is soften.
Step 2
Add the pork and the ground black pepper. Saute until the color of the dish turns light brown.
Step 3
Add 1 1/2 cup of water and then let it boil. Continue cooking it in medium heat with cover until the pork is tender and the water has evaporated.
Step 4
Prepare the gata. Combine Knorr Ginataang Gulay with 3/4 cup lukewarm water. Stir until the powder has completely dissolved.
Step 5
Add the gata mixture to the pot and continue cooking it until it will boil. Cover the pot and continue cooking it in medium heat until the liquid has reduced leaving only half of the mixture. Stir it occasionally.
Step 6
Add salt depending on your taste according to the recipe and transfer it to a bowl once you’re done cooking. Serve it with rice and enjoy your meal.
