In Caloocan City, the City Ordinance no.0439 prescribed a dress code for the residents prohibiting women to wear shorts and men to go shirtless in public.
Barangay 120 chairman Antonio Duran explained that the ordinance has been in existence since 2007 but he just need to remind the residents again.
Violators would be just reprimanded for the first offense but would pay a fine of P500 on second offense and P1,000 on the third offense.
“Sundin natin ang batas kahit sobrang init pa iyan. Gawa tayo ng paraan para hindi tayo makalabag,” Duran said.
Some of the residents also agree on the ordinance stating that revealing clothes do not look good and stressed that wearing shorts is fine as long it is the proper length.
