Sotto says celebrities linked to illegal drug dealers should also be named
Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III stated that celebrities linked to illegal drugs and dealers should also be named.
Previous reports exposed that 2 personalities in the Philippine entertainment industry were linked to the slain party drug dealer Steve Pasion.
According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the names of the 2 celebs were found in the text messages in the phone of the drug dealer who was killed during a buy-bust operation.
PDEA director General Aaron Aquino stated that one of the 2 celebs is a well-known personality.
“Malaki ito. You can see him every day,” Aquino said.
He added that the said male celebrity has been linked to three of their operations against illegal drugs.
Just recently, President Rodrigo Duterte exposed the names of validated narco politicians included in this year’s list.
In line with this, Senator Sotto was asked to express his reaction. The former actor who is now a lawmaker stated that celebrities who are involved in illegal drugs should also be named.
“Might as well name the celebrities patronizing these drug pusher. At least ‘yun pag galing sa pusher ang info, validated,” Sotto said, based on the report from GMA.
Despite that one of the celebrities was already involved in three operations of PDEA against bigtime drug dealers, the agency could not release their names yet.
PDEA Special Enforcement Services (SES) Acting Director Levi Ortiz said that there is a possibility that Pasion was just using aliases for his clients.
