LTO DRIVER’S LICENSE REQUIREMENTS – Here is a list of the requirements for the application of a non-professional driver’s license to the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

One of the LTO driver’s licenses that a lot of people are applying for is the non-professional driver’s license. It allows the driver to drive motorcycles and vehicles with gross weights that are not higher than 4500 kilograms.

With this type of driver’s license, one can drive pickups, sports utility vehicles or SUVs, sedans, mini-vans, and as well as passenger vehicles that do not go beyond the weight limit set for the license.

Based on the Land Transportation Office (LTO), here is the list of the non-professional LTO driver’s license requirements for application:

  1. Duly-accomplished Application for Driver’s License (ADL) Form. You can ask for a copy of it from the nearest LTO office.
  2. Valid Student Permit. It should have been issued at least 30 days since the date of your application.
  3. Medical Certificate certifying that you are physically and mentally fit to operate a vehicle or otherwise stating the impairment.

According to LTO, for foreigners who want to obtain a driver’s license in the Philippines, here is the set of the additional requirements:

  • Photocopy of Passport with at least one(1) month entry
  • Valid Visa

The applicant must submit the duly-accomplished ADL form to the nearest LTO office together with the LTO driver’s license requirements. It will be checked by the receiving personnel.

The applicant will go through a written examination and also a practical driving test for the successful examinees in the written part.
