Man in CCTV Demands Authorities’ Apology Following “Person-of-Interest” Tag over Jolo Cathedral Incident

JOLO CATHEDRAL – A man tagged as a “person-of-interest” in the Jolo church incidents based on a viral CCTV footage demands apology from the authorities.

The recent incidents at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral in Jolo, Sulu are heartbreaking. A twin “blasts” left several families grieving over the loss of their loved ones.

The incidents occurred last Sunday, January 27, 2019. The first one happened inside the Jolo church during a mass. The authorities came to secure the area.

While the military is securing the area, another “blast” happened at the gate of the church. The Jolo cathedral incidents took away not less than 22 lives. More than 100 people were injured.

CCTV footage showing the areas near the Jolo cathedral were recovered. From it, four(4) persons were tagged by the authorities as “persons-of-interest”. One man now demands an apology from the authorities.

The man introduced himself as a teacher based on a report on ABS-CBN News. He was the one wearing a striped sweater in the viral CCTV footage.

The man came to the Sulu Provincial Office together with the man wearing a green jacket in the video. The latter introduced himself as a student based on another report.

Both of the men were already cleared from the list of “persons-of-interest” following their conversation with the authorities.

According to the report, one man tagged as a “person-of-interest” in the Jolo cathedral incidents based on CCTV footage spoke to the media. He expressed that he knew about it from his colleagues and students.

According to him, together with his Grade 11 student who was also spotted in the video, they are now fearing for their lives. He expressed that his reputation was tarnished and as well as his student’s.

Based on the report, the man tagged as one of the “persons-of-interest” demands apology from the authorities who accused them of being part of the Ajang-ajang group and sharing the CCTV footage.
