Surigao Del Norte Hit by Earthquake with 3.7 Sultan Kudarat
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 3.7 magnitude quake in Sultan Kudarat this afternoon, January 24, 2019.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
One of the latest quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 2.4 magnitude quake in La Union. There were no expected damage or aftershock due to the said quake.
Recently, Phivolcs recorded another quake in PH. Today, January 24, 2019, Sultan Kudarat was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that jolted a part of Surigao Del Norte was located 06.23°N, 123.47°E – 075 km S 59° W of Kalamansig at 01:30:25 pm.
The quake was tectonic in origin and it has a 014 km.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that there are expected aftershock and damage caused by the quake.
