Kapuso actress and style icon Heart Evangelista fired back to a basher who said she is a “speciesist”.

The said term is associated to persons who are practicing speciesism.

According to www.end-of-speciesism.org, here is the meaning of speciesism:

“Speciesism is an ideology that considers the lives and interests of animals as not worthy of respect simply because they belong to another species. The notion of speciesism can be understood by analogy with racism or sexism; speciesism tends to place animals outside the range of moral consideration.”

One netizen accused the Kapuso actress of doing this kind of act. Based on the article published on the site of Abante, Heart posted a photo of her wearing a leopard-printed coat last January 18.

“Cozying up in China’s chilly weather.” the actress wrote on her caption. It can be recalled that Heart’s engagements in China is presumed to be because of the sequel of Crazy Rich Asians.

Because of the cold weather there, the style icon showcased her fancy coat.

This received a lot of positive comments from her social media followers. However, one netizen bashed her for wearing a leopard-printed coat.

Based on the report, Instagram user @yokomccartney  expressed dislike to Heart Evangelista‘s photo.

“You always say you love animals and yet you continue to contribute to their pain and [suffering] by wearing them. Just please stop saying you love animals, [because] you don’t or you’re a speciesist,” the basher commented.

This received a fiery reply from the Kapuso actress. Here is her answer to her basher: “It’s faux fur from Topshop. So before you bash, think. Plsss think before you type. It’s embarrassing.”
