Here’s What Raquel Pempengco Expressed About the Engagement of Her Son Jake Zyrus
RAQUEL PEMPENGCO – The mother of Jake Zyrus, Raquel Pempengco, reacted on his engagement to Shyre Aquino.
International singer Jake Zyrus formerly Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco is one of the biggest artist to emerge in the Philippines.
Jake is the first ever Asian singer who landed on the Top 10 of Billboard 200 in the US. It is the list of songs that ranks the streaming activity and sales.
Jake Zyrus is considered one of the most successful singers in the Philippines. He even performed with famous personalities like Celine Dion, David Foster, and the cast of the tv series Glee.
In 2017, the singer decided to be true to herself and discontinued the use of her birth name “Charice” then later removed her breast and got a testosterone treatment.
Jake Zyrus’ mom Raquel Pempengco has always been against her transition. The mother was open about how angry she was about the decision of her son.
Last month, Jake announced his engagement with his non-showbiz girlfriend named Shyre Aquino.
Raquel Pempengco was recently interviewed regarding her reaction on Jake’s engagement considering she was in favor of his transition.
Based on a report from PUSH, Raquel Pempengco stated that she will now be considering Jake Zyrus’ plan of marrying the girl he loves. She believed that whatever decision her son will be making from now is a blessing.
“Kung doon siya masaya, okay lang sa akin. Lahat naman sila kahit na wala silang komunikasyon sa akin, kung saan man sila masaya may blessing ‘yun,” said Raquel.
According to the report, Raquel Pempengco said that she and Jake still don’t communicate. She will just wait until her son will talk to her and will now be supporting all his plans and decision because he will always be her child.
“Mula noon wala pa akong communication kay Charice (Jake) pasensya na…Darating din naman ang panahon”
“Ayaw ko nang magtanim ng sama ng loob sa kanila at mga kamag-anak ko sila,” she added.
