Work Suspensions on January 9, 2019 (Wednesday)

The Supreme Court (SC) declared work suspensions in all courts over the Metro Manila on Wednesday (January 9, 2019) due to the annual Traslacion.

The work offices in the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, the Regional Trial Courts and the Metropolitan Trial Courts in the City of Manila have been suspended because of Black Nazarene’s yearly procession.

SC authorized the work suspensions due to the expected traveling difficulties caused by the heavy traffic due to the religious event.

Work Suspensions

Millions of Filipino devotees are expected to join the feast of the Black Nazarene, which has been already a part of our culture and tradition.

The work suspension is in line with Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada’s Executive Order No.1 series of 2019 declaring the suspension of work and classes in the City of Manila.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will assign 7,200 police officers to secure the peace and order in Traslacion 2019.
