Ateneo Bullying: ADMU President Breaks Silence About Controversial Issue Involving AJHS Student

Here’s ADMU president official statement about Ateneo bullying.

ATENEO BULLYING – ADMU President Jose Ramon T. Villarin finally releases an official statement regarding the viral videos of Joaquin Montes.

Tagged as “Ateneo de Manila Bullying Incident“, video footage of an Ateneo Junior High Schooler has circulated online which was immediately lambasted online. His line “bugbog o dignidad” has also become the center of issue.

It was then found out that the “bully” in the said viral video is the 12-year-old Taekwondo black belter Joaquin Montes. Similar complaints from three different parents have been filed but to no avail due to their alleged connection to José “Peping” Sumulong Cojuangco Jr., thus, he was not expelled.

The Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) has then released their official statement where they have stated that condemn “any form of misbehavior which includes harassment” and “bullying” as it they have never instilled it in their practitioners.

And now, as reported by the Philippine Star, the President of the Ateneo De Manila University Jose Ramon T. Villarin also released an official statement indicating that there is an ongoing investigation about the matter.

They have also clarified that they do not condone such behavior. They have their “codified standards of conduct and all students are made aware of these and their rights and responsibilities”.

It has been also further indicated, “The school is not silent on its stand on  
violence and it will not hesitate to impose the penalty of dismissal or even 
expulsion in cases of grave misconduct.”
