The Filipina beauty candidate Catriona Gray breaks her silence about the national costume malfunction during the contest.
Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray, the representative of the Philippines on Miss Universe 2018 finally breaks her silence the national costume glitch.
The Binibining Pilipinas winner admitted that she encountered a problem during the national costume show, the first event of the international beauty pageant.
The Pinay beauty wearing a costume representing the three major regions of the Philippines such as Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao experienced a technical problem during the show.
The Filipino fans noticed that Gray was walking a bit awkward during her term indicating that her outfit was quite heavy.
The 24-year-old contestant explained that her costume actually had LED lights but did not light up during the show.
Gray said that she repeatedly tests the light during rehearsals and it works properly but the light didn’t work anymore on the show.
“Just before I went out on stage, I tried to turn it on again and again and it was working so I am not sure if the wires just got moved during the transport here to Thailand or what happened. It just so happened that on the day itself and on the time that I walked out of stage, yung ilaw ko or the lights, they weren’t working and I am really, really sad about it,” Catriona said.
