Ang Probinsyano: ABS-CBN Responds After PNP Reacts Over Police Corruption In The Show

Here’s the press statement of Ang Probinsyano after PNP raises concern over police corruption included in the show.

ANG PROBINSYANO – The “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” released an official statement following PNP’s concern on police corruption included in the show.

Undeniably, the Kapamilya show FPJAP is one of the most-watched series from the said network as it is actually now airing on its third successful year. The is program top-billed by Coco Martin playing the famous role ” SPO2 Ricardo Dalisay“.

The show is more on talking about the realities of the society such as drugs, crimes, and corruption. However, the show currently including police corruption in its recent episodes, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde reacted.

Albayalde complained, “Hindi naman fair sa PNP ‘yung mga ganyang portrayal. Parang ‘yung the chief PNP himself is a villain — hindi naman po siguro kailanman nangyari sa amin. In reality, well, hindi puwedeng mangyari iyan.”

He also expressed that the PNP’s role in the show “very disturbing” and even reminded that seeking justice in your hands is against the law based on ABS-CBN’s report.

Thus, hearing this concern, ABS-CBN responded to Albayalde’s complaint and here is the full press statement:

“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” assures the Philippine National Police (PNP) that the characters, places, and incidents in the program are purely fictitious as stated in the disclaimer aired at the start of the show every night. There is no intention to smear the reputation of any organization or portray any person in a negative light.

The program has also portrayed its main character, Cardo, as a hardworking police officer dedicated to saving lives and serving his fellowmen. As in the past years, “FPJAP” has highlighted that good shall always triumph over evil and has shared valuable lessons and family values that have resonated with viewers.
