The Marcos family is one of the most prominent families in the Philippines, especially when it comes to politics.
Their patriarch, the late Ferdinand Marcos, was a former President of the country who declared Martial Law. His wife, Imelda and children Bongbong and Imee Marcos also entered into politics.
Along with their prominence and popularity, bashing and hate comments are also thrown against them.
Recently, the Marcoses went controversial again when the Sandiganbayan pronounced that Imelda is guilty of seven counts of graft.
Following that, an arrest warrant was released against the former First Lady.
Imee Marcos chose not to speak about this case as of the moment.
On the other hand, despite that past and present controversies involving their clan, the Governor has a positive response about her kin.
Based on the article published in PEP, Imee was asked if it is good to be a Marcos. She said that there is an automatic power that comes along with their family name.
“Ah…yeah it’s good you get foot in the door. There’s a lot of people who will listen to you simply because you’re Marcos even if you don’t deserve to be recognized,” she shared.
However, if there is a positive side on this, there is also a negative effect.
Imee Marcos said that with all the issues being thrown to the Marcoses, from her father down to them, it is inevitable that some people hate them.
“But on the other hand, you inherit haters for things that you don’t know anything about,” the Ilocos Norte Governor expressed, based on the article.
