Ex-PNP Chief Bato dela Rosa Reveals the Statement of Pres. Duterte to Him Over Election; Recently Files Candidacy
BATO DELA ROSA – Former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa filed for candidacy and revealed what President Rodrigo Roa Duterte told him.
Currently, news reports about the people who have filed their candidacy with regards to the upcoming 2019 elections are crossing the surface. One of those who has filed his candidacy is former PNP Chief Bato dela Rosa.
Dela Rosa has served as the head of the police force under the term of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. In April 2018, he retired with the director general’s four-star rank.
Following his retirement from being the PNP Chief, Bato dela Rosa was appointed as the director general of the Bureau of Corrections.
Undeniably, the name of former PNP Chief Bato dela Rosa is one of those that are listed in senatorial surveys. Many people have expressed their support to him in case he will run.
One of those who visibly believes in the capacity of the former PNP chief to be in the public service is Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Based on a recent ABS-CBN News report, following his filing of candidacy for senator, dela Rosa that Pres. Duterte told him to run for senator instead of governor.
“Before kasi sabi niya (Duterte), ‘Takbo kang gobernador,’ pero nagbago isip niya, sabi takbo na senador,” the former PNP Chief said.
Based on the report, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte told former PNP Chief Bato dela Rosa to “grab the opportunity” as the survey possibly suggests positive responses.
According to the former PNP chief, he is too young to retire and he is still strong enough to do a lot of public service to the Filipino people.
“Gustong-gusto kong magserbisyo. I am too young to retire. Malakas pa ako,” he said.
