G Tongi speaks up against the arrest of Senator Trillanes
Giselle Tongi or commonly known as G Tongi expressed her view regarding the recent arrest of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
The lawmaker was scrutinized after the revocation of his amnesty grant. On September 11, the Supreme Court denied the request of Trillanes for Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).
Initially, the Makati Court did not issue an arrest warrant against the Senator. On the other hand, On September 25, a Breaking News revealed that the said court ordered to arrest Trillanes.
In a previous article, he already has his mugshot courtesy of National Capital Region Police Office.
Because of this, Filipinos expressed various reactions about the arrest of Senator Trillanes.
There are those who are in favor that the lawmaker should be arrested. They believe that the amnesty granted to him is invalid just like Facebook user Marley Montero who said, “wala nga pag aamin..umpisa palang wala na bisa amnesty nya…hirap nila umintindi anu?”
However, there are netizens who are taking the side of the opposition Senator. Twitter user @ogie_rosa pointed out that the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte is much eager to eliminate those in the opposition rather than to put an end to the problem in illegal drugs.
One of the prominent personalities who expressed that the arrest of Trillanes is wrong is former actress G Tongi.
She said her opinion about this matter on her recent Twitter post.
G Tongi said:
“How can you say the Philippines isn’t under a fascist dictator when any kind of dissent is stifled by this administration?”
She also elaborated her point through using the hashtags “I stand with Trillanes” and “Stop The Attacks”.

One netizen who commented on her post agreed on her point of view while others slammed her.
“Nasa America k namn diba? Dual citizen ka ba? Nagvote ka ba dito? Just asking, if not then you dont have the right sabi ni Daniel..hahahaha,” a netizen said to G Tongi.
