Supreme Court Denied Sen. Trillanes’ Request for TRO

TRILLANES – The Supreme Court denied the request of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has recently revoked the amnesty grant to Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV. It was through the Duterte Proclamation No. 572.

According to Malacañang, the Senator failed to comply with the requirements. The Palace also stressed that being a lawyer, the President believes that the granting of amnesty is a “presidential prerogative”.

Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte decided to wait for the decision of the Supreme Court over the case of the Senator regarding his amnesty grant. The former Navy lieutenant requested for a TRO against the Duterte Proclamation.

The Senator is currently staying under the custody of the Senate. Based on a recent post on the Twitter page of GMA News, the Supreme Court denied his request for a TRO against Duterte Proclamation No. 572.
