Pres. Duterte Wants No Arrest For Sen. Trillanes Without Warrant
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke on the arrest of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
Recently, news reports about Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV crossed the surface. It was after the amnesty granted to him was revoked by the President. According to Malacañang, the Senator failed to meet the “minimum requirements”.
Sen. Trillanes is staying in the custody of the Senate. The people and his fellow politicians have different reactions over the revocation of his amnesty grant. Previously, he stressed that he won’t escape nor resist arrest and no evidence can be found against him.
Based on a recent report on Inquirer, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has spoken to his Cabinet members regarding the arrest.
In a press briefing, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque revealed that a long discussion over it happened. According to him, Pres. Duterte has decided to “abide with the rule of law”.
Based on the report, the Presidential Spokesperson stressed that the President will wait for the decision of the Regional Trial Court regarding the warrant of arrest.
