USD 2,600 Allegedly Taken by Airport Security Screeners From Foreign Passenger
AIRPORT SECURITY SCREENERS – Security screening officers in Ninoy Aquino International Airport allegedly stole money from a Taiwanese passenger.
Recently, a video seemingly taken at an airport crossed the social media and hooked the netizens’ attention. The said video was posted on the Facebook page Philippine trends and news.
Based on the caption, two airport security screeners are facing charges over stealing allegations. They are accused of stealing $2,600.00 from a Taiwanese passenger. The incident allegedly happened in NAIA Terminal 3.
It is stated that the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) conducted an investigation into the complaint of Mr. Cheng Chun Sun. The investigation done was in coordination with the Manila International Airport.
The two airport security screeners were identified as Nievel Gorpe and Reinelle Alvarez. According to the initial investigation, Gorpe allegedly violated the Standard Operating Procedure when he searched the bag without the passenger.
Based on the social media post, a case is filed against Gorpe. The investigation is currently ongoing to find out other people who may be involved in the incident.
Based on the social media post on Facebook page Matalinong Matsing, airport security screener Reinelle Alvarez already admitted to the accusation. $100.00 was recovered from him.
It is stated in the post that Nievel Gorpe denies the accusation and allegedly does not want to return the $2500.00
