Here’s what Kiefer Ravena has said over the sanction received from FIBA.

KIEFER RAVENA – The Gilas Pilipinas player Kiefer Ravena finally speaks up for the sanction given to him from FIBA after resulting positive to the three prohibited substances.

In a previous article, it has been reported that the cager Kiefer Ravena made it to the headlines after resulting positive for three prohibited substances he got in an energy drink.

He admitted it and took it as an honest mistake for not making sure of the content of the drink he took. The three prohibited substances were Higenamine, 1,3-Dimethylbutylamine, and 4-Methylhexan-2-amine.

Amid the issue, his girlfriend, the volleyball phenom Alyssa Valdez stood with him and never left his side for which he is grateful of.

“She sacrificed a lot because she could have easily walked away, but she never did. And for that, you know you have a keeper, you know you have someone you can spend time with for the rest of your life,” he said.

Thus, with the positive result that he had gained which he took full responsibility of, he was banned “from joining in any basketball activities whether sanctioned or not sanctioned events by FIBA” and even not allowed to watch barangay basketball leagues.

This incident has hit the player hard based on a report from PhilStar.

“Many were saying that I’m into drugs, na nag-te-take ako ng illegal drugs na alam naman natin kung ano yun. Umabot sa puntong ganun na masakit sa akin pero hindi ko na lang sinasagot dahil hahaba lang din yung opinyon nila.”

He further shared based on the report“Appreciate what you have because even if you know that it’s yours throughout your life, you’ll never know its value until it has been taken from you tulad ng basketball sa akin. I’m thankful there are still many who give their love and support to me.”
