Another LPA Expected To Develop Into Storm Within 24 Hours, PAGASA Says

The state weather bureau PAGASA expects another low-pressure area within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) to become a storm within 24 hours.

On Wednesday (July 18, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather update affecting the country’s weather system.

PAGASA reported that Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon are still affected by the monsoon rains due to the enhanced ‘Habagat’ brought by Tropical Storm Henry.

The weather agency also said that the southwest monsoon would bring rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA.

Meanwhile, another low-pressure area was expected to intensify as storm within 12 to 24 hours bringing more rains over most parts of Luzon including Metro Manila.

The weather disturbance will be named Inday, which will enhance monsoon rains and might trigger floods in low-lying areas.

Inday, which was last spotted 540 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan at 3 a.m was the second storm to enter the country this week.
