James Blanco Reacts To Philippines-Australia Basketball Brawl
PHILIPPINES-AUSTRALIA – One More Chance actor James Blanco reacted to the basketball brawl between the players of Philippines’ Gilas Pilipinas and Australia’s Boomers.
The recent basketball brawl involving the players of the Philippines-Australia qualifying match for the FIBA World Cup has sparked lots of reports and elicited various reactions. The event took place at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan on Monday, July 2.
Based on a report, the brawl happened during the third quarter of the game. It led to 13 players being ejected from the game. Australia Boomers’ Chris Goulding, Nathan Sobey, Thon Maker, and Daniel Kickert were ejected.
As per another report, Gilas Pilipinas players Terrence Romeo, Matthew Wright, Calvin Abueva, Troy Rosario, Japeth Aguilar, Jayson Castro, Roger Pogoy, Andray Blatche, and Carl Bryan Cruz were ejected leaving only three players allowed to play in the match.
The Philippines-Australia basketball brawl elicited comments from the people. There are Filipinos who are disappointed by the behavior of the Gilas Pilipinas players while there are those who understand why they acted that way.
Among those who seemingly understand the behavior of the basketball players from the Philippines’ team is actor James Blanco. Through a social media post, he expressed his reaction to the incident.
According to the actor, everyone knows that the Filipinos are among those who can really get along well with others but he won’t allow the Filipinos to be compared with monkeys.
“Mababait ang mga PINOY wag ninyo lang bustusin [bastusin] at hinayain [hiyain] sa sariling BANSA nmin. Kahit kami’y mahirap n bansa lalaban kaming samasama para lang ipagtagol ang ating LAHI,” he stated.
James Blanco ended his post with a message that there is a limit to the kindness of the Filipino people.
