Gilas Team Manager Butch Antonio Revealed Possible Sanction for Gilas Pilipinas

BUTCH ANTONIO – Gilas Pilipinas’ team manager Butch Antonio revealed the possible penalties FIBA could give against the team after the controversial brawl.

In the recent article, Luc Longley blamed head coach Chot Reyes for ending the game with a brawl. That being said, after the incident, what is in store for Gilas Pilipinas? What are the consequences of this controversial event?

“It can be game suspensions, fines, penalties, reprimands but I guess what’s best to do now is to wait for the decisions made by FIBA based on what they know,” Butch Antonio, the team manager of Gilas Pilipinas, said.

“Ang ine-explain sa akin kanina, the lightest might be a reprimand but the harshest can be outright suspensions for a number of games,” he added.

Furthermore, Butch added that this will also affect the Philippines hosting the 2023 FIBA World Cup, considering the brawl that recently happened. He also pointed out that people would think foreign players, especially Australia, won’t play in the Philippines because they are afraid of getting hurt.
