Gilas Player Terrence Romeo Unapologetic To What Teammates Did During FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers

Here’s Terrence Romeo’s statement over recent basketball brawl against Australia.

TERRENCE ROMEO – One of the ejected players after the brawl, Terrence Romeo, defended his teammates and was unapologetic for defending them.

Basketball fans were definitely in shock following an unexpected fight on the court between Gilas Pilipinas and Australia’s The Boomers during the qualifying match for FIBA World Cup.

It all started when PH’s guard RR Pogoy hit Chris Goulding of the opposing team with an elbow which was returned by Australia’s Boomer Daniel Kickert’s aggressive forearm on Pogoy’s face.

The brawl included punches, elbows, kicks, and objects hurled at players.

There were 9 players from the Gilas who got ejected from the game turned a battle royale against the Australian players at Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan on Monday, July 2.

The gamed ended in favor of the Gilas’ opponent via default.

And one of the players is Terrence Romeo who was unapologetic for standing up and defending his teammates during the heated brawl inside the court.

On Twitter, Romeo has stated to those who said that what they did was an embarrassment, “Dun sa mga kapwa namin players na nag sasabing embarassing kami wala kaming paki alam sa inyo . Kami mag kaka teammate sa loob kailangan namin mag tulungan. Hindi namin pwede pabayaan yung isat isa. Kung embarassing kami sa mata niyo bat di kayo mag convert ng australian.”

Furthermore, “Kahit anong sabihin niyo nag lalaro kami para sa isat isa para sa kapwa natin pilipino higit sa lahat para sa bayan. Hindi niyo alam ang sacrifice namin Kung para sainyo mali tulungan namin yung kakampi namin sinasaktan problema niyo na yun basta kami walang iwanan tapos!!!
