President Duterte gained various comments after “blasphemous” statement.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Duterte earned different reactions after blasphemous statement about God, a tirade against the Catholic Church.
Recently, the President Duterte has been under fire of criticisms following controversial kiss with a Pinay OFW. Based on a previous report, the kissing incident happened during his meeting with the Filipino community in South Korea.
But in Duterte has defended that it was just his style in politics.
“‘Yun ang style ko sa pulitika. Kung may volunteer ngayon… eh ano?” he said.
And after the controversy of the kiss, another stirring issue arises as he hit the God of the Catholic.
According to a report from the ABS-CBN, Duterte found a fault in the creation story of the Bible, thus, lambasting the logic of the God.
“Who is this stupid God? Estupido talaga itong p***** i** kung ganun. You created some — something perfect and then you think of an event that would tempt and destroy the quality of your work,” he said.
This is during his speech for the opening of the 2018 National ICT Summit in Davao City.
He just cannot accept the concept of having an original sin.
“Eh ‘yan ang hindi ko matanggap. Very stupid proposition. Anong kasalanan? Original sin, tapos i-baptize ka. Basain pa ‘yang ulo mo ng tubig. Maniwala ka niyang pari na ‘yan,” he stated.
This is the first time he criticized God. He added in the report, “Ako, I believe that is a universal mind. But to what extent is the influence of that… You know, I cannot picture Him as a human being in the image of God.”
Thus, on Twitter, a lot of netizens have commented on the blasphemous statement of the president.
And here are some of the reactions to it:
This has gone too far. I really feel that Christians of all denominations should oppose this ungodly leader. It’s sad that millions of Filipinos, many of them professing Christians, admire and even extoll him. https://t.co/yAWgnmjjPP

Duterte 2016: God made me president.
Duterte 2018: Who is this stupid God?
Yes, that was one of God's rare lapses in judgement.

Christians and non-Christians alike should condemn the insensitivity and rudeness of this man, who thinks of himself as a deity. https://t.co/1DasgKEUew

Duterte blasts the the Book of Genesis by saying "Kinain ni Adam [Forbidden Fruit] then malice was born. Who is this stupid God? Istupido talaga itong putangina kung ganoon".
Did Dutz forget that he was the one on that tree tempting Eve to eat the fruit?https://t.co/RMjQEHeWC2

I did not hear him say "god is stupid". I heard him asked "who is this stupid god?" A form of RHETORICAL question, not intending to ask about the existence of a stupid god, but rather to insinuate that God is not stupid to decree doctrines i.e. original sin.

I do not oppose blasphemy… As i believe no idea/ideology should be sheltered from criticism… But simply saying "god is stupid", is lazy thinking, unhelpful and insulting… Not just to believers but atheists like me who spend time and use reason to counter god claims…

“After recent tirades against priests and the [Carholic] Church's "hypocrisy," President Rodrigo Duterte cursed God and called God ‘stupid’ for the concept of ‘original sin’ in the Bible's creation story.”
Blasphemous is an understatement. https://t.co/4GO2bArg33
