BBC HardTalk Host Stephen Sackur Describes President Duterte As Extraordinarily Effective
BBC HardTalk Host Stephen Sackur has described President Rodrigo Duterte as extraordinarily effective during an interview with Sereno.
Stephen Sackur had a one-on-one interview with the former Chief Justice Lourdes Sereno, which is now making rounds online.
The news anchor who is considered as one of the most challenging interviewers throws difficult questions towards Sereno.
During the interview, the audience could easily notice that the BBC HardTalk host admires President Duterte after describing him as a “man who is – in political terms – extraordinarily effective.”
Sackur also believes that the President Duterte might be the most popular leader in the democratic nation and explained how the majority of Filipino people supports his war on drugs.
“As far as I can see, are you not aware, that the vast majority of the Filipinos seems to actually support his tough security crackdown on the drugs and criminals, they seem to his efforts to bring peace in Mindanao, they seem to support his economic policies delivered last year almost seven percent growth,” Sackur said.

Meanwhile, Sereno said during the interview that she doesn’t want to run for President.
Sereno also explained she did not want foreign countries to isolate the President but only to have more room for descending voices.
