Earthquake Shakes Surigao del Sur Today

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institue of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) confirmed that earthquakes hit parts of Surigao del Sur on Thursday morning.

Recently, two quakes hit some parts of Surigao del Sur – Marihatag and Bislig City. Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, a quake with a magnitude of 2.2 was recorded to have hit Marihatag past 10:00 o’clock in the morning today.

According to Phivolcs, around 11:20 in the morning, another quake with a magnitude of 4.2 jolted Bislig City. The epicenter of the quake was in the South East of the said city and it has a depth of 112 kilometers. It has a tectonic origin.

Based on the report, there are no records of aftershock and damage caused by the quake.
