DERRICK MONASTERIO – The netizens reacted when the young Kapuso hunk actor Derrick Monasterio expresses apology for his joke about AIDS.
Derrick Monasterio is a Filipino actor, dancer, and singer under the GMA Artist Center.
He is the son of Filipina former actress Tina Monasterio.
He has appeared in several programs and shows such as Mulawin Versus Ravena, Tsuperhero, More Than Words, The Half Sisters, Genesis, Anna Karenina, Tween Hearts, The Road, Tween Academy: Class of 2012, Boy Golden: Shoot To Kill, The Arturo Porcuna Story, and among others.
However, there was this certain “witty joke” from him about AIDS or the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome which he shared and posted on Instagram.
This is caused by the HIV virus and a person who said to have AIDS is when their immune system is too weak to fight the infection, and they develop certain defining symptoms and illnesses.
This is the last stage of HIV and if left untreated and the infection is advanced, it will eventually lead to death.
And when the actor has shared about it, he has garnered reactions the reason why he apologized and defended himself immediately.
The joke stated, “I have a friend who’s miserable because he just found out that he has AIDS. My advice: stay positive!”
