Robin Padilla disappointed at young stars.
ROBIN PADILLA – The veteran actor and action star Robin Padilla expresses disappointment over the lack of respect from the young stars.
Robinhood Ferdinand Cariño Padilla or more popularly known as Robin Padilla is a veteran action star tagged as the “Bad Boy” of Philippine cinema for portraying ‘protagonist gangster roles’ in his films Anak ni Baby Ama, Grease Gun Gang, Bad Boy 1, and Bad Boy 2.
He is also dubbed as “The Action Prince” or “The Prince of the Philippine Action Movies” next to “The King” Ferdinando Poe Jr.
Robin is known for his iconic roles in films and programs such as Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo, Pagdating ng Panahon, Tunay na Tunay: Gets Mo? Gets Ko!, Tulak ng Bibig Kabig ng Dibdib, Mistah, Manila Boy, and a lot more.
And as a veteran actor, he could not help but notice the difference between the young stars of his generation and the young stars of this generation.
As he himself had experienced, he expressed his disappointment over the lack of respect from the young stars of today.
In a report from the Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep), he said that some of the young stars were accordingly not giving or paying attention whenever they would pass by with the veteran stars as a sign of respect.
He said, “Mga bata pa, pag nakita mo, di ka pinapansin. Nasasalubong ka sa elevator. Parang, ‘Di yata ako napansin ng batang yun, ah! Parang gusto mong kalabitin pa, e, ‘Ay, ako po si Robin Padilla po.’ Ganun lang. Hindi mo naman pinipilit sila.”
And he had admitted that he had been through it for a lot of times already.
He further added that during his time as a young star, they will be scolded by the management if they don’t pay respect to the veterans.
“Pagagalitan ka ng produksiyon mismo, [si] Boss Vic mismo kakausapin ka, di ka puwedeng bastos sa matatandang artista. Hinahanap mo lang yun, pero hindi ko naman ho inoobliga yung mga bata. Naku, baka ako ay mabanatan, ma-bash pa rito… hindi po. Huwag niyo akong pansinin. Walang problema ho sa akin. Hindi isyu ‘yan. Napag-usapan lang namin, kaming mga matatanda, pero hindi pinupuwersa,” he noted.
