The Philippines in the previous year has definitely dominated the beauty pageant scheme snatching numerous crowns and international titles.

And with regards to this beauty competition, the Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Wanda Corazon Teo stated that the hosting of the country for this pageant lies on the final decision of President Rodrigo Duterte.

In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep). DoT Secretary said, “Pero there are many factors to consider. At the end of the day, kailangan ko pa rin ng permiso sa presidente. Gaya nung last time. Kinausap na kami [ng MUO] na gusto nila sa atin…”

“Pero nung kinausap ko si Presidente, sabi niya, ‘You know what, may ASEAN tayo.’ November din ang ASEAN, November din ang Miss Universe, baka daw mahihirapan. So, baka next year [2018]. Wala namang event that big, I think naman baka papayag si Presidente. Ako, hopeful. I really want it here,” says Teo.

Secretary Wanda Teo even noted that the president is not that hard to talk with about the matter.

But if ever he will approve it by April of this year, they will have to look for more sponsors unlike the previous hosting of the country which lacked in time for preparation.

What can you say about this?
