Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto was featured in this Reddit post by a netizen who expressed gratitude to him.
Mayor Vico is one of the most popular political figures nowadays. Even though he is just in the local political scene, his popularity reaches the different corners of the Philippines.
He is admired for his modern approach when it comes to public service. Mayor Vico is known for criticizing the “trapo” or “traditional politics” way of being a public servant. In the 2025 elections, he had a landslide win against his closest opponent businesswoman Sarah Discaya.
This showed that Pasig City still wanted him to continue his leadership which brought a lot of positive changes. Even people outside Pasig have been expressing their support for him, just like this netizen who shared a story on Reddit.
@Sweet_Sin_0414 shared that she met someone, their team leader who is a lawyer, during the elections because her sidelined as a paralegal.
It was said that their team leader started chatting with her after they met during training. At first, the netizen was ignoring the guy and she would just sometimes reply to his message a week after and her replies were short.
This week, she shared that their conversation had a good flow and one night he called her. Their phone conversation lasted an hour without her noticing it.
A part of it was about a candidate, their boss who was running for mayor from a city just near Pasig. The netizen shared that the guy stressed that if their boss won, he could provide her with any position she liked in the city hall.
Then, the netizen shared what her suitor told her about his allegation that Mayor Vico did not win fairly, “Grabe kasi yung dayaan nung election. Yung mga machine, pre-loaded na ng boto bago pa nakarating sa mga precinct. Ang laki ng ginastos nila jan. Kahit si Mayor Vico talo talaga yun eh. Talagang ginastusan lang nila Vic at Tito Sotto kaya yung mga machine loaded na agad ng boto para sa kanya pero talo talaga siya kung hindi.”
After the guy said this, the netizen pretended that she was already sleepy. From that, she never chatted with him again until now. For the netizen, if her suitor has this “bulok” mindset, it is a hard pass for her.
For her, that person lives outside the Earth. “Buti di nanalo boss nya kasi by the looks of it, ayaw sa good governance,” the netizen shared. She also thanked Mayor Vico Sotto because of this.
