December 8 Officially Declared By President Duterte As Special Non-Working Holiday

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has officially declared December 8 as a special non-working holiday after signing the bill.

December 8 has been finally declared as a special non-working holiday after President Duterte signed the bill into a law to commemorate the Feast of Immaculate Conception of Mary.

The Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10966 was declaring December 8 as an addition to the long list of Philippine holidays and special non-working days every year.

The bill was proposed by Majority leader Rodolfo Fariñas of Ilocos Norte considering that most of the Filipino people consider the date as a “day of obligation,” requiring the Catholic believers to participate in the Mass.

In 2018, December 8 will fall on a Saturday, while in 2019, the non-working day will fall on Sunday,
