Senator Tito Sotto Reacts On Canadian Prime Minister’s Comments Over EJK
Senator Tito Sotto has lambasted the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for his controversial remarks on Extrajudicial Killing (EJK).
Previously, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has raised the concern of Canada regarding the EJK incidents happening in the country during the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
Trudeau has discussed the rule of law and human rights violation due to the extrajudicial killings, which took thousands of lives linked to the anti-illegal drug campaign launched by Duterte administration in July 2016.
On Wednesday (November 15, 2017), Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III has reacted to the colorful remarks of the Canadian Prime Minister regarding the killing incidents in the Philippines.
Sotto lambasted the Canadian officer for bringing up the issue instead of discussing more serious matter such as the garbage issue of Canada with the Philippines.
The lawmaker was referring to the 55 container vans of garbage from Canada, which were recovered by Customs officials at the Manila seaport.
Here is the statement of Sotto towards Trudeau:
“I think the Canadian Prime Mister should comment on a much relevant issue that Canada needs to answer for. It is not acceptable that until now he cannot offer a tangible solution for the tons of garbage still rotting in our port. Stop evading your country’s responsibility by bringing up an issue that is highly debatable.”
