Latest Weather Updates About Typhoon Paolo Released By PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released the latest weather updates about Typhoon Paolo.
On Thursday (October 19, 2017), the state weather bureau PAGASA predicted that most parts of the Philippines will experience overcast skies and rains because of Typhoon Lan or locally known as Bagyong Paolo.
Bagyong Paolo has sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 145 kph. The typhoon is currently moving north-northwest at 15 kph and was last spotted 895 kilometers east of Daet, Camarines Norte.
Based on forecast models, the typhoon was heading towards Japan and expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday (October 22, 2017), according to Weather forecaster Ober Badrina.
Paolo was expected to intensify and transform into a super typhoon for the next 48 hours as it moves towards Japan, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center.
The provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and the Bicol region could also experience rains and thunderstorms because of Bagyong Paolo.
Badrina also said that another low-pressure area was located about 185 kilometers west of Puerto Princesa City. The LPA was also expected to bring thunderstorms and scattered rains.
The LPA was now being monitored by the weather agency to determine if it could turn into a tropical cyclone.
