Ombudsman Carpio-Morales Real Salary During Aquino Administration Has Been Finally Revealed
The real salary of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales during the Aquino administration has been finally revealed to the public.
In 2015, the Commission on Audit (COA) has reported the funds, allowances, benefits, and the salaries received by the government officials in 2014.
President Noynoy Aquino, Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr., and Senate President Franklin Drilon are the government heads who have received the report from COA.
The report shows that judiciary members are the most highly paid in the government. The government allocates million to the Constitutional Commissions heads and for Supreme Court Justices.
Aquino administration even increased the wages or salaries of the members of the judiciary including Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales who was receiving a salary of P2.2 million.
However, the Senate Bill No. 2671 or the Salary Standardization Law IV that will adjust the compensation of civilian and uniformed personnel in the government was pushed by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
“I’d like this bill to be the legacy of President Aquino to our government employees, including teachers, police and military personnel who have been helping him in attaining the reforms he instituted in the government,” said by Trillanes quoted Philstar.
The report also shows that the highest salary paid to a judiciary member was P6.2 million, which was paid to Justice Presbitero Velasco.
