North Korea fired a ballistic missile over the north of Japan.
MISSILE – The North Korea was reported to have fired a ballistic missile over the north of Japan says the government of South Korea and Japan.
A ballistic missile is “a missile with a high, arching trajectory, that is initially powered and guided but falls under gravity onto its target.”
According to a report from the BBC News, the South Korean and the Japanese government have announced that the North Korea has launched a ballistic missile over the northern Japan.
The missile has accordingly reached 770km (478 miles) in altitude and travelled 3,700 km.
Officials say that it has landed in the Pacific Ocean but it first flew over the Hokkaido Island of Japan.
On previous month, the North Korea also fired a missile to Japan to which the Tokyo called it as “unprecedented threat” to the country.
The latest launching of the missile took place in Pyongyang before 07:00 local time on Friday (22:00 GMT on Thursday).
