Metro Manila Floods Due To Tropical Depression Maring
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that Metro Manila have submerged in floods due to heavy rain brought by tropical depression Maring.
On Tuesday (September 12, 2017), the heavy rain spawned by the tropical depression Maring has caused floodwaters in some parts of Metro Manila. The intensified tropical depression packing wind of up to 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph.
The East Ave. in front of SSS was already under a waist deep flood, according to MMDA’s Flood Control Information Center (FCIC).
The areas under a gutter-deep flooding were Taft Manila from Philippine General Hospital to U.N. Ave, Commonwealth Winston-westbound; Commonwealth Dona Carmen-westbound, Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) Shrine-northbound NB, E.Rodriguez Intersection; EDSA Boni southbound, EDSA Boni area, and EDSA Quezon Ave NB.
The road along E.Rodriguez Araneta near Petron area; Pasong Tamo was under a knee-deep flooding. While R. Papa in Manila is not already passable for all types of vehicles.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that Maring started to pour heavy rains in Metro Manila and its nearby provinces on Tuesday. It is also expected t hit Quezon-Aurora area this afternoon.
