“Many More To Come After Parajinogs,” PNP Chief Dela Rosa Says
The Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa warned that there will be more after the Parajinogs.
Previously, Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo “Aldong” Parojinog Sr. and his wife died after the police authorities have raided their home in Misamis Occidental. There also at least 14 others who died in the raid in San Roque, Ozamiz City.
The personnel of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) raided the home of Pajinog political clan who were are with search warrants on early Sunday (July 30, 2017).
The authorities have recovered illegal substance and a huge amount of cash after raiding the home of the Parajinog family. The Ozamiz City mayor was tagged by President Rodrigo Duterte as among of the narco-politicians in the country.
On Monday (July 31, 2017), PNP chief Dela Rosa said during a press conference in Camp Crame that there would be more to come after Pajinogs on a nationwide scale anti-drug operations. “Marami pa. Marami pa kaya hintay-hintay lang kayo,” said by Dela Rosa.
The PNP chief urged everyone including the alleged narco-politicians to surrender as the authorities were strictly enforcing the law. He also emphasized that they fear no one and they will not give any favor.
Ozamiz Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog, the daughter or Mayor Parajinog and her brother were also arrested during the raid. The accused will be brought to Camp Crame.
CIDG Director Chief Superintendent Roel Obusan also said that they are not meant to kill the suspect, but they were forced to shoot them after they fought back. The suspects were meant to be liquidated.
“Kaya nga may nahuli tayo, kasi we are not meant to kill; yung mga lumalaban lang…It erases the doubt of the lawyer na they are meant to be liquidated kasi if that’s really our intention, napatay na sana lahat; si Madam Nova, wala na rin sana,” said by Obusan quoted by ABS-CBN.
Obusan was also hoping that killings could be prevented and urged the suspects to peacefully surrender to the authorities.
