Alleged Shoplifter Nabbed By Security Guards In Department Store
The security guard of Gaisano Department Store in Bacolod City nabbed a man who allegedly shoplifted several items from the store.
Shoplifting is a term used for the unnoticed theft who took items from open retail establishments. People who concealed store items inside its bag, pocket, clothes, and etc. without paying at the counter were called as shoplifters.
The law does not define the term shoplifting or shoplifter, but it falls under the legal classification of larcency. To reduce the case of shoplifting and robbery, stores were already chaining items, storing expensive items inside locked glass cases, attaching sensors, and even installing CCTV camera.
Stores were also installing security guards at the exit to check backpacks, bag, and check purchase or official receipts to reduce the case of shoplifting. They were also trained to fight and detect potential shoplifters.
A Facebook user named Runelyn Sunod Mba has uploaded a video of mall security guards arresting a man who allegedly shoplifted several items from the department store. The incident takes place at Gaisano Department Store.
In the video, it can be seen that the security guards were trying to lock up the alleged shoplifter who’s trying to escape the authorities. The man allegedly took some store items probably a jacket. A few moments later, the guards were able to chain the suspect and brought him to the office.
