The Queen of Peace Parish Church in Bacolod City will no longer be a worship place starting the 31st day of May.
BACOLODÂ –Â The Diocese of Bacolod has an announcement regarding one of the churches in the city, the Queen of Peace Parish Church.
The conflict that sparked between the board of trustees of the St. John’s Institute or commonly called as Hua Ming or SJI and the Diocese of Bacolod has led to the pull-out of the diocese from the school.
Based on a recent news report in Inquirer, starting the 31st day of May, the Queen of Peace Parish Church will not anymore be a place for worship as announced by the diocese.
Furthermore, starting the first day of June, the Hua Ming will not anymore be regarded as a Catholic school.
According to the news report, it was Bacolod Bishop Patricio Buzon who made the announcement after the conflict between the school’s board of trustees and the diocese.
The Bacolod Bishop did not agree with the desire of the school’s board of trustees to de-parish the church and return it back to a chapel.
Bishop Patricio Buzon did not support the idea of the board of trustees of Hua Ming as the Queen of Peace Parish Church has been standing both as a school chapel and a parish church since before until the last three years according to the report.
According to Bishop Buzon, the diocese came into the decision of pulling out from the church as the stand of the members of the board of trustees of the school is “non-negotiable”.
Based on the report, the Bishop shared that diocese came to SJI as the one who donated the land, the Capitol Subdivision Inc., invited them as it desire to form a Chinese apostolate there.
According to Bishop Buzon, taking away the parish from Hua Ming is not in line with the main intention of the land donation.
