Duterte To Robredo: ‘Pakasalan mo ako’

RODY DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke before the Filipino community at the Royal Thai Navy Headquarters in Thailand.

Based on a recent news report in GMA News Online, the 71-year-old President did not specifically named Vice President Leni Robredo in his remarks before the Pinoys abroad.

However, it abruptly became obvious when he mentioned Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, his running mate during the 2016 national election based on the report.

It was the wife of the late Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, Leni Robredo, who went out as victor in the 2016 vice presidential election.

Based on the report, Pres. Duterte told the Filipinos that they chose the woman and she is in a hurry as she wanted him removed from office. He added that he has not yet reached his one year in service.

“Sige, dalaga man siya. Sige, pakasalan mo ako… So dalawa na tayo dito,” the 71-year-old Chief Executive said.

Based on a previous news report, the first impeachment complaint against the Philippine President has just been filed by Magdalo Representative Gary Alejano.

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez has reacted on the matter and claimed that Vice Pres. Robredo could be behind the impeachment complaint against the Chief Executive.

Aside from the House Speaker, another Duterte Ally, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella has also similar claim.

Reportedly, Speaker Alvarez expressed to CNN that he is studying the possibility of filing an impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Robredo.

According to the House Speaker, this is the only time that an official of the government who is on one of the top positions “brazenly maligned” the country in front of other nations.

The House Speaker was referring to the video message that the Vice President has sent to the United Nations.

House Speaker Alvarez raised a quest regarding the possible effects of the move of Vice Pres. Robredo based on the report.

Meanwhile, Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano expressed that it is the way of House Speaker Alvarez to drag the issue away from Pres. Duterte and to “cover his crimes” in the campaign against illegal drugs.

The Magdalo Representative said that the move of filing an impeachment complaint versus the Vice President because of what she has said before the UN shows that the Duterte Administration does not welcome criticisms.
