It was not only Speaker Alvarez who claimed that the Vice President could be behind the impeachment complaint against the 71-year-old President but as well as presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella.

According to the news report, the one who filed the impeachment complaint against Pres. Duterte, Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano, reacted on the statement of the House Speaker.

According to the said Magdalo Representative, it is the House Speaker’s way of dragging the issue away from the President and “cover his crimes” in the war on drugs campaign.

Furthermore, Alejano said that the move of filing an impeachment complaint against the Vice President due to what she has expressed before the United Nation shows that criticisms are not welcome under the Duterte Administration. He tagged it as “a mark of a dictator.”

Based on the report, the Magdalo Representative said that Pres. Duterte should be removed from office for hidden wealth, for the death of 7,000 drug suspects, and the death of 1,400 people who were killed by the so-called Davao Death Squad during Pres. Duterte’s term as the Davao City Mayor.

It was just recently when news reports entailing the filing of the first impeachment complaint against the 71-year-old President broke in. Based on a previous news report, the move has sparked reactions from people most especially on the social media.
