Recently, the first page of the impeachment complaint against the 71-year-old Philippine President has been posted on the Facebook page of CNN Philippines. It was “via CNN Philippines Correspondent Joyce Ilas” according to the caption.

Based on the posted photo of the first page of the impeachment complaint, the complaint entailed that Pres. Duterte “culpably violated the constitution,” “engaged in bribery,” “betrayed public trust,” “committed graft and corruption,” and “committed other high crimes.”

The post has crossed the online platform in less than an hour as of the writing. Lots of netizens have already expressed their reactions to the post via comments.

According to one netizen, the people who filed the complaint are protecting their personal interest. He stated that they were not defending the welfare of the ordinary citizens. “Gulo talaga ang magdalo mula pa noon,” he stated.

One Facebook user stressed in her comment that they should be ashamed as the President has only been seated in his position in just a few months but he has already done a lot.

“Gosh. They’re wasting people’s money! We should never vote for these people again!” one netizen stated in her comment.

A Facebook user emphasized in his comment that Pres. Duterte has launched a war against criminality and illegal drugs to defend the humanity. He said that the war is not against humanity.

One netizen stated in a comment that it is only in the Philippines that “a leader who does everything” for his country is being attempted to be removed from the office.

According to a Facebook user, the impeachment is a game of numbers.  “If you don’t have the numbers, why bother with it. [?]” he stated.

It was just recently when news reports entailing the move of Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano to file an impeachment complaint against Pres. Duterte broke in. Based on a previous news report, the complaint will be filed at the House of Representatives.

The social media post about the move has sparked mixed reactions from the netizens.
