Young vendor sells Kamote to save money for his own chemotherapy has earned different reactions from netizens.

A concerned Pinoy netizen took to social media and shared a heart touching story of a young vendor selling Kamote or sweet potato in the streets.

Netizen Matteo Utitco shared a photo of a Kamote vendor that he encounters around the Bonifacio Global City.

Based on the post of Utitco he revealed that the young vendor has cancer and he is trying his best to sell Sweet potato or Kamote to save money for his own chemotherapy.

Utitco chose not to name the vendor, but he mentioned that the unnamed teen is said to sell his food at the BGC area where he could be seen on almost daily basis.

The post was shared on social media and went viral. Many social media users were greatly saddened when they found out that the boy has cancer.

Netizens were quick to give their reactions on the viral post, while others took it upon themselves to discover who he was and gather more information about the vendor in order to better help him.

While there were a number of people who were saying that the vendor is trying to scam people by saying, the vendor isn’t sick at all. In fact, he was just using other people’s sympathy so he could have money for his own personal use.

But some of the netizens who have actually encountered him at the BGC said that they tried to give him extra money after learning that he has cancer but he refused.

“Nakabili na ko ng kamote dito. Tapos binibigyan ko ng extrang 200 hindi niya tinanggap. Di daw siya tumatanggap ng ganong tulong gusto niya bilhin lang kamote na paninda niya,” netizen Jr Dimaamo wrote in the comments section of the post of Filipino Tweets That Matter.

The post was now circulating on social media and earned different reactions from the netizens.

Some social media users defended the vendor against the negative comments that he received from other netizens, saying whether he had cancer or not the important is he refuses to accept donations and not harming people he’s just trying to sell his Kamote.
