James Reid highlighted the effect of Issa Pressman in his life
Actor-singer James Reid opened up about his relationship with social media personality Issa Pressman, and he shared how his girlfriend helped him bounce back from a major ordeal in his life.
James talked about this aspect in his life during his guest appearance on Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano’s vlog.
The actor-singer recalled the difficult time when he was deceived by his business partner at Careless Music, the record label they had established together.
“I lost P150 million, that was like the last 10 years of work that I’ve done, probably more. It was a lot. It was almost all of what I’ve saved,” James Reid shared.
He said that he never imagined that someone she considered a friend could do this to him, and it was Issa who made him realize what was happening and woke him up to the reality of the situation.
“She’s the one that really had to… like, shake me and be like, ‘Hey, you really need to wake up, this is, I think, is really what might be going on,’” James shared.
Issa told him that she did not think that the situation was ever going to get better, and that he could still get his money back. James woke up from that, and his girlfriend was a huge part of that whole experience.
Aside from that problem, James also went through a controversial issue that happened at the 2023 Wavy Baby Music Festival, which was produced by Careless Music. Numerous issues arose under his business partner’s leadership. He said that it was a disaster.
“Just problem after problem after problem, and police showing up because it was just not planned properly, and you know, he (his former business partner) really was the head of it,” the actor-singer said.
On the other hand, James Reid saw the bright side while he was facing those problems. While this was all happening, he and Issa started dating. “And as horrific as everything that was going on right then, there was also something even more beautiful happening at the same time,” he said.
At that time, James said, he was so deeply in love with Issa that he didn’t really mind the chaos unfolding around them.
