Manila, Philippines – Department of Justice has filed a motion to consolidate the three cases against Senator Leila de Lima.

Department of Justice prosecutors has filed a motion for a consolidation of the three cases filed against the lady senator.

Senator Leila de Lima is facing three charges after her name was linked to those personalities involved in illegal drugs at the National Bilibid Prison.

The lady senator was accused of violating Section 5 of the Dangerous Drugs Act in relation to her alleged collusion with the inmates and protection of the illegal drug trade at the NBP during her time as Justice Secretary of the Aquino administration.

Because of this, the senator was now detained at the Camp Crame in Quezon City after the Muntinlupa issued a warrant of arrest against her.

In a recent news report of Rappler, the cases of Senator Leila de Lima had raffled off by the Muntinlupa Regional Trial court to branches 204, 205, and 206. The DOJ wants to combine the two with the one before the branch 204.

Muntinlupa RT Branch 206 has given the camp of the lady senator five days to comment on the motion for consolidation.

Meanwhile, Senator Leila de Lima has maintained to deny the allegations against her and said they are all lies.

“There’s no truth, they’re all lies, the allegations against me, that I allegedly received drug money, allegedly coddled or protected drug suspects – these are all lies and the truth will come out at the right time,” De Lima said.
