Several news reports now entailing the name of SPO3 Arthur Lascañas are breaking in after the retired police officer spoke against Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Recently, one of the long-time neighbors of SPO3 Lascañas spoke.
According to a recent news report in GMA News Online, the retired cop’s neighbor for almost two decades, Jocelyn Cabardo, said that the neighbors of SPO3 Lascañas are afraid of him based on Maki Pulido’s news report on 24 Oras.
Furthermore, the 20-year neighbor of the retired police officer claimed that SPO3 Lascañas would often bring out his gun. Cabardo also said that somebody spoke and she heard that the retired police officer is one of the bodyguards of Pres. Duterte.
Meanwhile, a tricycle driver spoke in contrary to the claims of Cabardo. Based on the news report, one driver recalled that the police officer was kind.
“Siyempre kung magsakay man siya, itong motor pupunuin man to… sampung pasahero… Hindi man siya magalit maghintay man siya [If he will ride, this motorcycle will still be loaded… 10 passengers… He does not get mad, he waits],” one of the drivers claimed.
The recent claim of SPO3 Lascañas that the President has paid his group to kill broadcaster Jun Pala in 2003 has undeniably sparked lots of news reports.
Based on a previous news report, the retired police officer claimed that Pres. Duterte, when he was still the mayor of Davao City, had asked his group through SPO4 Sonny Buenaventura to kill the broadcaster.
SPO3 Lascañas claimed that Mr. Duterte was very mad towards the broadcaster then for always attacking him in his radio station. In exchange for taking away Jun Pala’s life, they were paid P3 million according to the retired cop.
