War Against Illegal Gambling Declared By PNP Chief Director Ronald Dela Rosa

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa declares a war against illegal gambling in the Philippines.

On Monday (February 13, 2017), PNP chief Dela Rosa said in a press conference that he’s declaring a war against illegal gambling. The police chief has shifted the focus of PNP to illegal gambling.

Previously, Dela Rosa announced that there will be no more war against on illegal drugs. He decided to stop the anti-illegal drug campaign for cleansing the PNP from scalawag police or corrupt police officials.

The police chief wanted to clear their area of jurisdiction from illegal gambling, so they will conduct an operation against gambling. Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte issued the Executive Order (EO) No.13, which strengthens the fight against illegal gambling.

“The Philippine National Police will continue to hit hard on all forms of illegal gambling activities in line with Executive Order No. 13 issued by President Rodrigo R Duterte,” said by Dela quoted by Inquirer.

Department of Justice, Department of Interior and Local Government and Department of Information and Communications Technology will also coordinate with PNP, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and other law enforcement authorities as directed in the EO 13.
